SERVICES
What Can We Work On?
My services are individualized to the person. If your child has encountered an obstacle in development, learning, relationships, independence or everyday life, my goal is to understand what's getting in the way and find practical ways to start moving things in the right direction.
Communication
Understanding language, expressing needs and ideas, and developing more effective ways to communicate.
I use a variety of strategies to help children better understand others, communicate what they need and become more confident communicators.
Sensory Challenges
Sensory regulation can affect learning, communication, relationships and everyday life.
I can help identify sensory needs and use movement, play and full-bodied experiences to work on regulation, motor planning and participation.
Social Relationships
I use understanding, empathy and humor to build positive relationships and help children become more comfortable entering other people's worlds.
I can also coach parents, siblings and others on ways to build stronger connections.
Behavioral Challenges
Rather than focusing only on stopping a behavior, I look for what's driving it.
Impulse control, limits, aggression, tantrums, recurring conflicts and unusual behavioral patterns can all be approached by understanding the underlying problem and developing strategies around it.
Sibling & Family Relationships
Siblings can be great allies—and great competitors.
I help siblings understand individual differences, navigate competition and conflict, and discover the advantages of being on the same team.
Life Skills & Independence
From hygiene and everyday routines to chores, organization and greater independence, I find ways to make functional skills more engaging while gradually reducing dependence on prompts and adult assistance.
Learning
When traditional learning approaches aren't working, I build from the individual's interests, strengths and motivation.
Over the years, I've helped children learn to read, write, do math, type, play instruments, tell time, use technology, perform, give presentations and much more.
Medical & Dental Visits
Medical and dental experiences can be especially difficult for people with sensory, communication or anxiety-related challenges.
I can help children understand what to expect, gradually become more comfortable with procedures, and help parents and healthcare providers think about ways to make the experience more manageable.
